Restoration of the week goes to this vintage frameset – OLMO. After years of use, it’s time to make its way into the Icecream Shop for some goodies. We will be replicating another classic OLMO with a satin red/orange tone.

With this project we are going to bring back the luster in the pearl white and do some rust removal.Typically with this type of frameset we execute a full restoration, but we will only be restoring the base and the rest will be executed off site.

On this frameset there was quite a bit of rust on the various sections of the frame. We protected the frame, and sealed the rust – then implemented color tones and masking to complement the metal/rust tones.

Here is the concept sketch and the original frameset – we are going to implement what we did on the ‘Ferrari Frameset’ fades with this Bareknuckle, but have more of a subdued contrast between the deep ‘orchid violet’ and the ‘jet euro black.’ This project will be work following.

Instead of recreating this machine into a freshly restored Schwinn, we will be giving this number a darker green with some British Racing Green base and toning that down with some satin/matte clear-sets.
